Moraira Information
The picturesque fishing port of Moraira looks out over turquoise waters towards the Ifach rock and headland. It is located between the Costa Blanca towns of Javea and Calpe with Teulada and Benissa a short drive away.
Moraira has become a popular Mediterranean destination for the more discerning tourist and is home to many who have chosen to move to a warmer climate.
The town nestles at the foot of the Teulada valley amongst green pines and is known for it's safe and sandy beaches as well as for the many restaurants, bars and cafes.
The coast road to Benissa will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Spain and offers breathtaking views, as well as opportunity to stop off for a cooling drink at one of the frequent bars.
The town has a bustling market on a Friday and many palm shaded boulevards and parks. This is one of the quieter Mediterranean towns and remains unspoiled retaining much of it's original old world charm.
The historic bay of Portet was once a place of shelter for ships on the Phoenician, Greek, Roman and Arab trading routes. An old watch tower still remains sitting on one of the most elevated parts of the Cap d'Or (Cape of Gold).
Moraira has a cosmopolitan community which takes a pride in it's environment. This is witnessed by the many parks, woodland areas, modern sculptures, fountains and progressive architecture. This part of Spain also has many first class golf courses, a marina, water skiing and 5 star hotels offering the very best in modern leisure facilities.
Apart from the obvious attractions of the climate and Mediterranean lifestyle, there is also the infrastructure to support those who chose to live and work abroad. There are a number of well regarded international schools and the nearest airports of Alicante and Valencia are just over an hours journey on good roads.
